Moray Council has worked successfully with Springfield Properties during the past 5 years to deliver over 300 high quality, affordable homes across Moray. During
this period, we have especially valued Springfield’s flexible approach to addressing our design standards and willingness to develop bespoke house types to meet the particular needs of the range of households seeking affordable housing from the Council. These households include families, the elderly and people with
disabilities. We have no doubts that our partnership with Springfield is providing an excellent product for our tenants – housing that is energy efficient, attractive and comfortable to live-in.
Over the years, Springfield has made a significant contribution to the delivery of the affordable housing in Moray, providing key development opportunities and delivering projects on time and within budget. This contribution has underpinned the successful delivery of not only the Council’s housing programme but the
programmes of other affordable providers operating in Moray.
We are particularly proud of our development at Grantown Road in Forres, which provided 67 much needed affordable houses, including 12 amenity bungalows for the elderly. With a roads layout following the principles on “Designing Streets” and housing that meets “Silver” level of the Building Standards for energy efficiency, the project has set an important benchmark for the quality of housing we are seeking to achieve. This has been evident from the positive views given by the
residents of the new housing as well as members of the local community.
