Springfield sponsored teen golfer wins Royal Dornoch Ladies Open

3rd July 2025

Inverness amateur golfer, Summer Elliott, sponsored by homebuilders Springfield Properties, has won the Royal Dornoch Ladies Open.

The 18-year-old golfer secured the win after scoring level par in windy conditions and defeating Royal Dornoch Club Champion, Cailin Boa, by 3 shots.

The win of this longstanding tournament that was founded in 1972, adds to Summer’s already strong season. Earlier this year, she competed in the 122nd Women’s Amateur Championship alongside some of the top female amateurs in golf and recently qualified for the Nairn Golf Club Championships.

She said:

“I’m really pleased to add winning the Royal Dornoch Ladies Open to my golfing CV, especially in such windy conditions. It has been a whirlwind of a season so far, and I am thoroughly enjoying each challenge.

“I’m very grateful to Springfield for their continued support to allow me to concentrate on achieving my golfing ambitions.”

Springfield Chief Executive, Innes Smith, said:

“As someone who tries to play golf, I can truly appreciate the consistent hard work Summer is dedicating to the sport to improve her game. She’s completed some fantastic accomplishments already in her early golfing career, and winning the Royal Dornoch Ladies Open is a great achievement to add to the list.

“Springfield has been supporting Summer’s golfing ambition for a few years now and she is a brilliant and very determined golfer.”
