Affordable homes handed over in Forres
Springfield Properties, one of Scotland’s leading private and affordable housebuilders, has handed over 12 new affordable homes in Forres.
The one bedroom cottage flats have been built in partnership with Moray Council along Strathcona Road in Forres.
The apartments are built on the grounds of the former Forres Medical Centre which was demolished in 2015 following the opening of the £5.5 million Forres Health and Care Centre. Located within the town, the flats are a short walk from the new Forres train station, local shops and parks with views over to the Thomson Memorial.
Springfield Partnerships Group Managing Director, Tom Leggeat said:
“These apartments are all highly energy efficient which helps keep running costs low, there is plenty of parking and the flats are all spacious and modern. These homes make great use of a vacant site and help Moray Council give homes to those who need them in Forres.”
Chair of Moray Council’s Communities Committee, Councillor Louise Laing said:
“These one bedroom flats look great, are energy efficient and cheap to heat. I hope the new tenants are as pleased with them as I am. Moray Council pledged to build 68 houses before the end of March. With these 12, we have delivered 32 homes so far."
