Energy Efficient Council Housing Handed Over
SPRINGFIELD Properties has handed over the first of 67 Council houses in Forres.
The mixed development of two, three and four bedroom high-efficiency homes for Moray Council have been completed to the highest level of environmental and thermal efficiency to make them easy to run and heat.
The semi detached houses and bungalows include five homes built specially to meet the requirements Special Needs tenants.

The construction of the Knockomie Braes affordable homes involves a combination of technologies that include air source heat pumps, under-floor heating, large triple-glazed windows and energy monitoring that allows residents to know how much energy they are using day-to-day. All the homes are designed to allow maximum insulation in floor, ceiling and walls and a variety of other design features ensure very little heat is lost.
Sixty two private houses will also be built in this first phase, four of which have already been sold.
