Springfield Are Highly Commended for their work with Apprentices

20 November 2014

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) nominated Springfield for Apprentice Employer of the Year Award and we’re delighted to have been Highly Commended in the category.

Diane Kemp, HR and Legal Administrator, was presented with the award at a ceremony in London hosted by 110m hurdles champion, Colin Jackson.

With 30 apprentices working across Scotland, we were up against much larger companies and organisations for the award, including the Commonwealth Games 2014 which created over 1,000 apprenticeships.

After accepting the commendation, Diane said:

“When I came to Springfield I started as a receptionist and admin assistant. After a year I was offered an office apprenticeship in HR. Now I have a diploma in HR practice and I am an associate member of the Charted Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). I am also responsible for the companywide training programme and that includes apprenticeships.

“I know the value of an apprenticeship and I want to make sure that all our new apprentices get as much out of the scheme as possible.

“This is a huge accomplishment for us. It recognises the work we do with CITB and how, every year, we give young people the opportunity to enter the industry.”
