Dundee City Council Planning committee considered applications for Springfield Properties’ Dykes of Gray development, to the west of Dundee, last night at the city chambers.

The Scottish House Builder of the Year has been given planning consent for 230 new homes. Springfield’s Chairman Sandy Adam has said:

“This is a very exciting time for Springfield. We are delighted with the decision. We are looking forward to making a start on the development in early 2015 so that people in Dundee can benefit from our Springfield Choices and our unique approach to house building.”

Rich colours of natural woods and slates will be used to finish the homes. With open spaces, cycle routes and a multi purpose play pitch, there will be homes for all ages and stage in a great location. Dykes of Gray has all the makings of a community for life.

“The Council’s vision is for a stand alone village. A place where people know each other and come together as a community. We’ve designed Dykes of Gray to be a place people call home. Children will grow up here, buy their first home here, and have a family of their own here. We are planning a range of 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom homes, all designed to compliment the area.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Springfield, one we are very excited about.  Whilst we are disappointed we didn’t get planning for both applications, we are dedicated to working with Dundee Council to address points raised by the elected members and bring the full village planned for Dykes of Gray to fruition.

Together, we are determined to get Dykes of Gray right, for the people of Dundee who need homes now and for all of those who will live at Dykes of Gray far into the future.”

Springfield are committed to opening a sales office as early as possible in 2015. For more information prior to the launch, contact our Larbert office on 01324 555536.
