Springfield donates £1,000 to Dundee charities for Christmas
16th December 2025
Two Dundee charities have each received a £500 donation from Springfield Properties as part of the homebuilders annual Christmas Cheer campaign.
Springfield, building high quality homes at Dykes of Gray village in Dundee, invited residents of the community to nominate local causes that matter most to them with chosen charities each set to receive a £500 donation in time for Christmas.
This year, in the campaigns second year, a significant number of the nominations received highlighted charities tackling poverty in the wider Dundee area. Among these, Help for Kids and Togs for Tots stood out for the vital support they provide to families and children across the city.
Help for Kids delivers essential assistance to disadvantaged children in Dundee and Perth, ensuring they have access to resources and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. Togs for Tots offers clothing, equipment and food support to families in need, helping more than 1,700 children last year.
Fiona Hain, Community Development Manager from Help for Kids was delighted with the donation:
“The day we got the call about the Christmas Cheer donation we went straight out to buy supplies for the 13–18-year-olds that we support – an age group we tend to get less donations for. So far this Christmas we’ve donated nearly 1,900 gift bags, each with a book, box of chocolates, 5 gifts and a soft toy, to children and young people in the Dundee area.
“We’re very lucky to have the support of local businesses, and the communities, that help us ensure that no child wakes up without a gift each Christmas.”
Springfield Regional Operations Director, Colin Blair, said:
“Our Christmas Cheer campaign, in addition to the donations we provide throughout the year, is designed to celebrate and support charities that strengthen the communities we build in. The residents at Dykes of Gray highlighted the remarkable efforts of charities helping local children and families, and we’re proud to contribute to that ongoing work.
“We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who took the time to nominate a charity and highlight the great work these organisations do for those in need.”
These donations form part of the Springfield Group’s wider Christmas cheer initiative, which saw over 30 nominations from residents across developments in Dundee, Perth, Inverness and Moray and resulted in £3,500 distributed to seven charities in time for Christmas.
