Springfield spreads Christmas cheer with £500 gift to local charity

23rd December 2025

Local homebuilders, Springfield Properties, has supported Moray Women’s Aid with a £500 donation following nominations from Elgin South residents as part of their Christmas Cheer Campaign.

In its second year, the charitable campaign encourages residents of Springfield’s Elgin South Village to nominate a charity that resonates with them. The initiative was also rolled out to other Springfield Group developments in Dundee, Inverness and Perth which saw over 30 nominations and has led to £3,500 worth of donations.

Each of the residents within Elgin South that submitted a nomination chose Moray Women’s Aid. The charity provides vital support to women, children, and young people affected by domestic abuse in the Moray region, reaching over 750 people in the past year. Founded in 1987, they offer a range of services from counselling, drop-in sessions, local training and awareness raising, and one-to-one emotional and practical support.

Diane Kemp, resident of Elgin South and Group HR Manager for Springfield is on the Board for the charity. She said:

“I’m incredibly proud to support Moray Women’s Aid, a charity I volunteer with because of the vital place they hold in our community. Every day, they offer hope, safety, support and a listening ear to women, children, and young people whose lives have been shaken by domestic abuse.

“The team at Moray Women’s Aid remind those affected that they are not alone - and that kind of support truly changes lives.”

Springfield Properties Managing Director, Dave Main, added:

“Supporting the wider communities in areas where we are building – especially in Moray where our company was founded – is an important part of our ethos at Springfield. Our Christmas cheer campaign is a great way to support causes that mean the most to our customers, at a particularly important time of year.

“We were blown away with the nominations Moray Women’s Aid received from the Elgin South community and are delighted to donate to the charity and support their great work this Christmas.”
