217 new energy efficient homes approved in Rattray
Perth and Kinross Council have approved Springfield Properties revised plans for 217 new homes just off Glenalmond Road in Rattray.
The £29m project, behind the existing Springfield Kinloch Gardens development, brings a variety of two, three and four bedroom homes from the house builders new Alba range portfolio.
Springfield Properties Managing Director Innes Smith has said:
“We have a real opportunity in Rattray to extend our successful development here and continue to offer buyers homes with a great level of specification and a wide variety of choices. It’s an exciting time for those looking for a new home in the area.
“This is the first time we will be building the Alba house styles in Rattray. They surpass current Building Standards. They are well insulated and are fitted with an energy efficient heating system that is better for the environment and will reduce energy bills for our customers.
“Over the course of construction at our Kinloch Gardens development in Rattray, around 50 people have been employed on this development, the addition of these 217 homes means continued support of these jobs for approximately seven years.”
After being withdrawn from committee last month following feedback from the Council, the house builders have worked with officials and amended the submission. Mr Smith continued:
“We’ve had an opportunity to work with Council officials to consider the Councillors’ feedback for this project, and we thank them for their support. The newly approved plans include more landscaping around the boundary of the site and an additional 75 visitor car parking spaces bringing the total parking for the development to 493 spaces.”
Springfield is planning to start construction before the end of the year.
