Dalmarnock Road Affordable Housing plans revealed
Plans for 204 new affordable homes off Dalmarnock Road, Glasgow, have been revealed to locals at a public consultation.
Within the Clyde Gateway Regeneration area, Springfield Properties are proposing to regenerate the former good yard that has lain vacant since its closure in 1960.
The plans showed aerial images of the existing land, highlighting the developments close proximity to the train station, Velodrome, local supermarkets and bus routes.
Early stage conceptual sketches of the seven blocks of two and three bedroom apartments were also available. The 5-6 storey apartment blocks are designed to be in keeping with the urban area and are broken up with communal and landscaped spaces.
Land Manager, Jim Ravey, attended the consultation. He said:
“We’ve had a great response from visitors popping in throughout the day. Many live locally and have had lots of questions about the styles of homes and how construction will impact the area. It’s brilliant to see such enthusiasm for the project.
“There have been a few comments we have taken on board and will review our plans subject to the feedback received today. We are aiming to submit the plans to Glasgow City Council by the end of the year.”
Springfield will work in partnership with the Council and local Housing Associations to regenerate and deliver the site.
