Fiona McGowan • Woodilee Village, Lenzie

Fiona portraitWe’ve been in our home for just over 2 months. We didn’t actually plan to buy a house when we did as we had just got engaged at the end of 2013 and were planning our wedding, although we liked the idea of moving out of the city in a couple of years time. In January 2014 we decided to go and check out the Woodilee Development in Lenzie as we had heard a lot of good things about it.

On arrival at the development we looked around and immediately thought this would be an ideal location for us. It’s close enough to the city, the main road networks of central Scotland and both airports, handy as I travel a lot with work.

We couldn’t stop talking about Woodliee that evening and decided to pop back the next day to go and see the Springfield show homes.  Springfield Properties were a house builder we had never heard of before, but once we had seen the show home, met Lewis Murphy the Sales Executive and taken a walk round the Springfield site we instantly knew this was the place for us to buy our new home – so we paid our deposit!

We had looked at other house builders on the Woodilee development and although we could have got our house much sooner we were restricted to a standard build with no choices. This helped sway our decision towards Springfield Properties as they gave us so much choice and allowed us to put our own personal stamp on to our property. Not to mention, other developers’ showers were also pretty small and with a 6ft 2in husband we really wanted something bigger!!

Springfield Choices was the real top selling point for us. I loved the fact that we could really personalise our house from designing our own kitchen to being able to match our wardrobes to our specifications and the doors we selected matched our existing furniture – this is something you would usually do the other way round!

We have put in a technology system throughout the house which links up to our TVs with ceiling speakers.  We added a wine cooler in the kitchen and put extra cupboards into the utility room, and to top it all; a jet bath and TV in the main bathroom.

The service of both the team on site led by Andy Simpson and sales executive Lewis Murphy has been first class.  Andy, Lewis and the team worked tirelessly when we realised our official move in date was initially the day before our wedding! However, they managed to pull it forward a full week so we were settled before our big day.

Nothing is too much trouble for Springfield Properties and considering the amount of customisations we made to our home they have been nothing but helpful and supportive. They have just finished sorting out our snagging list and ensuring we are settled into our new home. The comfort of knowing they are only a text away has been great!
