As Springfield’s Motherwell development went on sale this weekend, eager buyers were keen to face the elements to snap up their dream home.

Sales Executive, Kim Kenealy was greeted with a queue of customers on Saturday morning. Some had queued for four hours before the 10 O’clock opening to secure the home they wanted.

The new development of 100 homes just off Hamilton Road has created a buzz in Motherwell. Close to the M74 and within walking distance of Dalziel High School, there was lots of interest in the 2, 3 and 4 bedroom contemporary homes.

Newly-weds Jill and Scott Murphy are looking to buy their first home together and were among the first to arrive on Saturday. Jill said:

“The location of this development is key for us. We live in a flat just around the corner at the minute. It is so handy for the motorway and we have family nearby – this development would be perfect for us.”

Child minder, Alison Christe, is currently living in Motherwell and particularly interested in the three bedroom Lauder house style:

“The area is a huge selling point for me, my daughter goes to Dalziel High School and living at Springfield Motherwell, she’d be able to walk to school.

“I like the Springfield homes as everything is hassle free. You can select your kitchen and get the house decorated the way you’d like before you move in which makes things so much easier.”

Fiona Sheikh-Alzour and Noah Muhammad also wrapped up warm to wait in line for their new home. They reserved the 4 bedroom Crail house style.

“We’ve been looking for a new home for the last six months or so,” said Fiona. “We’ve been really excited about this development officially opening. It is close to the high school and as we have four kids that’s really important for us. Plus we think Springfield are so much better value for money because of the amount that is included. It ticks all the boxes for us."

Kim was delighted with the turn out:

“We had over 60 visitors this weekend with two sales and a further 10 homes on hold for customers.

“I’ve been speaking with many of the customers in the weeks leading up to the official opening so I had a notion that there would be a queue when I arrived, but it was still amazing to see so many people just as excited about the development as I am.”

With prices starting from £137,500 for a two bedroom cottage apartment, a highly competitive specification and Help To Buy available on many of the homes, there is something for everyone on the development.
